How do we experience time within our bodies? We inhabit time in entangled timelines and cycles that are intimately shaped by the physicality of our bodies. Bodies in Time is an invitation to explore how photography can reveal, shift, and offer insight into the unique ways that our own bodies inhabit time, as well as how our experience of time is connected to other human and more-than-human bodies.
Each week participants will gather for rich discussions accompanied by prompts, questions, and inspiration designed as starting points to foster creative practice.
How might your photography practice be an extension of your body's way of interpreting time?
Kinship uses a pay-what-you-can honor system with a minimum donation of $60. The actual cost for a 5-6 week practice group is $125. Donations below $125 are being subsidized by Kinship. Please give as generously as you can. If you cannot afford the minimum donation of $60 please request a scholarship.
Frances Bukovsky is a photographer and illustrator located in Marshall, North Carolina. They are interested in the ways we define, value, and relate to both human and more-than-human bodies. Frances focuses on the process of photography as a way to explore embodiment and relationship, often beginning with their own body. They draw from ecology, queer, and disability studies to weave intimate experiences together within broader contexts to highlight the interdependent relationships between all beings.
