Summertime: A Kinship Call for Photographs

Summertime

A Kinship Call for Photographs

Join us via Zoom on Wednesday, June 24th, 7 pm EDT

It is believed across many cultures that Summer Solstice provides a unique and even magical doorway to connect with the qualities of summertime. As we approach the longest day, what do summer’s long days and lingering twilight evoke for you? Does time feel different in summer? Does summer’s energy influence your practice? Does reminiscing about summer spark nostalgia? What is capturing your creative attention this summer?

At this unique time of year, we invite you to make summertime inspired photographs or photograms around Summer Solstice (June 21st). If you are unable to create new images around the solstice, we also welcome cherished photographs from your archive that give us a glimpse of how summertime expresses itself through your practice.

To contribute images to our community slideshow, please use this form to submit 1-3 jpeg images before Tuesday, June 23rd at 6:00pm EDT.

Kinship Supporting Members can find Summer Solstice inspiration from Megan Driving Hawk on June 18th on Kinship Circle.

For our friends in the Southern Hemisphere who are experiencing the opposite season, you are welcome to share winter solstice images from June 21st or photographs from your archive.
