An Elemental Year is a recurring seasonal practice group that draws creative inspiration from land-based calendars—where time moves in non-linear rhythms with the Earth’s seasonal and elemental changes and travels in circles and spirals.
During this practice group, participants utilized the power of embodied rituals, contemplative practices, deep reflection, and playful intuition to explore their fundamental relationships to the element of “fire”.
Together, we pondered whether attention to “fire” could spark and ignite new ways of seeing, moving, and responding that might shift what and how we photograph.
