Memories & Promises

Jeffrey DeCristofaro

Jeffrey DeCristofaro’s images look both behind and forward, capturing the elegance and magic of past moments while hinting - and holding on to - the promise of a better future, all while still in the grasp of time, space, and all surrounding elements that compose and shape our lives and destinies.

Jeffrey DeCristofaro (b. 1985) is a local Asheville resident and artist. Born in Tennessee and formerly homeschooled due to his autism (which he didn't know he had until his late 20's), he enrolled at the University of North Carolina - Asheville and graduated with both a BA and a Master’s degree. An internationally-published photographer both online and in print (his work featured in GENZO, GMARO, and the MOUNTAIN XPRESS, among others), Jeffrey has also been involved in the local filmmaking scene as an actor & crew member in features, music videos, and shorts, including several he co-wrote and co-directed for the Asheville 48Hr. Film Project. Jeffery has volunteered with local non-profits and causes, including Manna Food Bank, and has also modeled for local designers, most recently for EN VOGUE AVL.
