Connective Tissue with Kaye Savage

Connective Tissue with Kaye Savage

September 10th - October 22nd, 2024
Meets every Tuesday from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm EDT via Zoom for 7 weeks.

This group will encourage participants to think about and beyond the physical boundaries of a subject that interests them. Each participant will come to this group with an item, creature or phenomenon as a focal point, and build your understanding of its (their) web of connections through questions, research and photographic practices.

Prompts each week will support discovery of ecological, social, physical, and other contexts that enfold it, and invite photographic expressions of those relationships. We will also play with some collaborative approaches to explore how one another's perspectives can expand our ways of knowing and embracing kinship.

This practice group will have a maximum number of 8 participants.

Kinship uses a pay-what-you-can honor system with a minimum donation or $50. The average contribution for a six-week practice group is $125. Please give as generously as you can. If you cannot afford the minimum contribution of $50 please don't hesitate to request a scholarship.

Kaye Savage teaches Environmental Studies at Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC. Her artwork spans photography and mixed media/handmade paper, with place-based themes centered on terrain patterns, ecological relationships, and representations of scientific data.
